KAGAMI
BREAK

BREAK TO BEGIN

TAP TO BREAK

PRESENTED BY NORI & GOMI

The Ritual

Every night
begins with
the break.

Kagami-biraki — the Japanese ceremony of breaking open a sake barrel lid. For centuries it has marked one thing: a beginning. We bring the ceremony to the dance floor, where it belongs.

The barrel arrives

A real cedar sake barrel, on a real club floor. Not a gallery. Not a tasting room.

The break — YOISHO!

Mallets up. One shout from the whole room. The lid gives way and the night officially exists.

Ceremonial pour

A complimentary ceremonial serve from the barrel for early arrivals, poured through the venue bar. First come, first served. 21+.

The masu goes home with you

The square cedar cup is yours to keep — proof you were in the room when it broke.

SIGNATURE MOMENT THE DROP = THE BREAK

On signature nights, the lid breaks on the DJ’s drop. One hit — sound and sake open together.

Origin

Born on a
New York dance floor.

KAGAMI BREAK isn’t a sake brand doing an event, and it isn’t a party with a sake sponsor. It is one ritual, built to live in the underground — starting small, in Brooklyn, on purpose.

割った瞬間に、
夜が始まる。

The name says everything. KAGAMI — the barrel lid, and the mirror it is named for. BREAK — breakbeats, breaking, the act itself. The same verb runs through the name, the copy, and the ceremony. We don’t translate BREAK TO BEGIN. It doesn’t need it.

On the Bar

One night,
one recipe.

Every KAGAMI BREAK carries an original sake-based cocktail, built for that night only, on a brewery’s bottle. When the night ends, the recipe retires.

In Development

The Founding Night

#000

Every legend has a first night that almost nobody attended. This is ours. Invite-only, somewhere in Brooklyn. Small by design — the room, the date, and the photographs become page one of the record.

WHERE

Brooklyn, NY. A real club. Details shared with the list.

WHEN

Off-nights only. We don’t compete with Saturday — we replace it.

WHO

Invitation first goes to the RSVP list. If it breaks while you’re in the room, you’re part of the origin.

The List

Be in the room
when it breaks.

The list hears everything first — #000 invitations, dates, drops. No noise, only nights.
